Meet Dexter
A note from Julie: Dexter is an excessively tall pug. He was my inspiration for becoming a dog trainer. As a point of reference, when I was researching the breed, I read a number of breed books which described pugs as being stubborn and difficult to train. However it was a pleasure teaching Dexter – why? The copyright date of the books I was researching in were in the days of the more popular “traditional” training. Slap a choke collar on a pug and sure enough you won’t get much motivation out of him. Offer him some kibble to perform and he’ll be a super star. The proof is in the pug!
